MCP (Model Context Protocol)
An open standard that lets AI assistants safely call tools and access data in a structured way. MCP enables ChatGPT, Claude, and other agents to interact with your e-commerce platform without direct API access.
AI Shopping Agent
An AI system that searches product catalogs, compares options, and provides recommendations to shoppers. Shopping agents help users discover products but don't complete purchases without explicit confirmation.
AI Purchase Agent
An AI system that can not only search and recommend products but also complete checkout autonomously. Purchase agents can add items to cart, compute totals, and guide shoppers through payment (with explicit human confirmation).
Agentic Commerce
E-commerce intermediated by AI agents instead of humans manually browsing stores. Agentic commerce enables automated discovery, comparison, and purchasing workflows driven by AI assistants.
Catalog MCP
A set of safe, read-only MCP tools for AI agents to search products, fetch details, check inventory, and retrieve pricing. Catalog MCP does not allow writes.
Checkout MCP
A set of MCP tools that allow AI agents to construct shopping carts, compute totals, and initiate checkout flows. All write actions require explicit human confirmation.
